A dangerous crossing

The players arrive at a river that crosses their path. The river stretches in both directions and is surrounded on both sides by trees.

Two elderly travelers (dwarves) are standing near the river and pondering how they can cross. They are in a hurry because they carry medicine for their sick relative and they need to get across the river quickly. They want to cross here because the river is not very deep and they won’t get washed away.

The dwarves are called Dim and Dom.

Dim is an expert cartographer. He has been making maps of the surrounding area for many years. He uses a special compass that allows him to navigate through the forests. Dom is an expert in herbal medicine. She has a vast knowledge of the healing powers of herbs. She also has a talent for finding herbs in the wild.

It turns out that the sick relative is suffering from a rare disease called “fairy-fever”. This disease is caused by exposure to a particular type of fairy dust. It causes severe swelling of the hands, as well as a propensity to break out into song at inappropriate times.
